Watercolor Travel (or home views) Journal . April 19th, 2025. 9-12:30.
Basic sketching knowledge and beginner watercolor experience a prerequisite.
(Also, one must be able to walk up steps to house to go to the restroom as there is not one in the studio).
Join me for a morning workshop Saturday April 19th 9-12:30 pm in my new Deland home studio. Limited to 6 participants.
Weather permitting, we will begin by painting a little scene outside in the wildflower meadow that blooms in the spring!
After a few warm up watercolor sketches we will go in to the studio. You will bring photos on your device from either travel or home views to work on in the studio in a watercolor sketchbook.
Canson 7 × 10 or any brand/size watercolor sketchbook is affordable. Make sure it is NOT a mixed media sketchbook for this class.
A watercolor paper sketchbook is needed. Double check this before you buy one since they are similar.
Have at least one round paintbrush size 8 or 10. The round brush is capable of producing thick or thin lines.
Pick simple high contrast photos if you are a beginner. I will help you crop and choose photos if you need help.
From there I will show you how to do a light sketch and save the details for the watercolor. Some basic scene sketching necessary and some beginner experience with watercolor. For those who or more advanced, more detailed sketches and photos can be used.
A snack is included and you may bring snacks. Please bring your water bottles. Workshop will be finished before lunch at 12:30
The backyard studio is not attached to the house, so all students must be able to walk to the house and climb steps up to go to the porch bathroom door.
